HOUSITONIC RIVER
A simple plan. We decided to pitch our two little tents on the banks of the rippling Housatonic River in Massachusetts. The camp site organized; we lit a small fire on the rocky shoreline which was more glow to capture. Our tents were merely a few feet from the reeds, the campers well oiled.
I set up my easel and started to sketch at around 6 pm. The moon was gloriously awe-inspiring rising behind the “V” chasm. Charcoal, pencils, and action. The sound of the water was manic, a superpower with wee fish leaping. I felt the drawing was coming to a completion as dawn approached.
It is shameless and unforgivable that this gem is poisoned by industry.
