Wallace original sketch studies created by David Shaw Nicholls as seated on a remote hilltop approaching Stirling, with a grand vista of the monument. Started in the morning, the session continues through the afternoon’s storms, into the evening, as the clouds separated to reveal an outburst of sun rays and misty plateau, whirling around the architecture. This Folly is of no casual whim, it is a unique and powerful statement, respectful to Scotland’s enduring hero of the centuries, William Wallace, the warrior patriot.
